Art All Around While Growing Up
The brothers grew up together in the midwest and were always inspired by art- including visual art and sound. They recall running through art museums together and critiquing the works together. And some people may not know this about Paul because his acting overshadows it- but he is actually an accomplished oil painter, having sold pieces of his art through galleries in Minneapolis to art collectors in New York City.
The Time Zay Tried To Touch A Monet Painting
Paul fondly recalls a time when his younger brother Zay, who was about 8 years old at the time, tried to touch a Monet painting at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. “A security guard came screaming down the hall at me and my brother. Saying ‘Step Away Step Away!’ Which we hurriedly did. The Monet was under glass, so it wasn’t like Zay would’ve even been able to feel it. But it still made me smile. Of course a kid doesn’t know not to touch a Monet.”
The brothers are still plugging away on their individual projects. Paul just wrapped filming his 1-line role as Mustache man in the film “House of Tomorrow” with Nick Offerman and Ellen Burtsyn, and Zay is recording another album with his band.
