~Agatha Christie at her typewriter.
I am reminded of the great “queen of crime” Agatha Christie. A great example to me of writing about murder, death, and crime- all while maintaining the innate value we each posses by living. I’ll have to reread a few of her stories as I don’t know off-hand the title of the one I am referencing, but in one murder mystery she has a character speak of how selfish suicide is to someone contemplating it. Citing that there is purpose in everyone’s life just by living day to day. For who knows- by existing, by simply walking down the street, you could be saving someone else’s life by your very presence there. Unbeknownst to you.
Not a “squeaky-clean” author by any means, but she sure dealt with death and life in an admirable fashion.
