Grateful to the Random Stranger That Gave Me a Hug

It was a brisk spring day several years ago when our paths crossed. I was stooped in the grass crying.

She, a random white haired grandma-type, was passing nearby. She didn’t say anything at first. She came over and put her hand on my shoulder a minute, then gave me a hug whispered some soothing words ending with a gentle “it’ll be alright.” Then quietly continued on her way.

God help me to be like Her
Warm hearted towards a complete stranger & knowing when not to speak too much.
