Rant ahead:
Dear fellow artists – no one owes you anything.
Stop with placing your artistic life on others having to appreciate it or pay you just because YOU decided “I am going to be an artist and now the world owes me”
That’s not how life works in any job.
Am tiring of whining artists, excusing themselves from having to do extremely hard work of being an entrepreneur- because they are (fill in the blank with gender, sexual identifyers, skin colors, body descriptors, geographic locations, etc…)
The world is a tough place, not only for you because it’s so hard to be an artist. It’s hard for pretty much everyone and you, not the world, decided to take this track of artistry.
Whining isn’t going to get you anywhere other than to pity-party central station and no one that stays there ever arrives at their destination.
Play the game, or don’t.
Don’t blame your failure on others, and don’t expect to be successful just because you try.
Failure can be great, you learn from it.
Own your life, your decisions.
If you don’t succeed- then reevaluate and make decisions based on what you’ve learned. And if you need – learn better. Learn more. Even after all of that – the world owes you nothing because you are an artist.
