Rusty Railroad Spike Hunting Makes Me Smile

A reader sent in this spiked photo. He said he recalled something I had said about liking them.

Which I do mention in my biography that one of my fun past-times, when not working on a film set, was exploring the railway station down the hill  with my little brother. We’d find the old railway spikes in the ditches along the tracks.

Makes me grin at the memories it brings to mind. The clanging of metal in the distance where the railway workers were doing their work, the vibrations felt under foot as the trains slowly rumbled past, and the sound of the grass as wind passed over it. Great summer-time memories.

Thanks for sending the photo Steve V.

I am curious to know what your Summer past-time thing to do is? Drop me a comment.
